Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower. ~ Albert Camus
I love this idea….the thought that autumn is a second beginning, with life pouring through every scarlet maple leaf and every locust tree shimmering with golden leaves. There’s something about the brisk wind of fall that makes my pulse race a little faster and makes me feel like my energy is being renewed.
This photo of sunlight through the leaves of the Japanese maple is one of my favourites, not for the quality of the photography but for the light and the interplay of shadow. The glow of the leaves almost looks like a halo surrounding the gnarled and curling branches. There is an exuberance to the colours that lifts my spirit and nourishes my soul.
This is Day 2 of 31 Days of Soul Tending and the focus is celebrating beauty, in this case the beauty of sunlight through autumn leaves. Today is a perfect day to take a look in your own neighbourhood or during the commute to work or wherever your day takes you and see what beauty nature has to offer. Enjoy!
